30 Days of Thanks: November 30, 2017

So many things to be thankful for on this last day of November. I'm thankful for a husband that is working hard to keep us together. I'm thankful for being a stay at home mom so when my kids need me I'm always there. I'm thankful for friends that work at my kid's schools and can call me when something happens. I'm thankful for modern medicine and it's easy access to us when we need it. I'm thankful for a quick fix (and painless) to G-man's dislocated finger. I'm thankful that when it really matters I can be strong and calm and the voice of reason in sticky situations with my kiddos!

1st appointment

So today I met with a "resident" doctor and a psychologist. He (the doctor) ran the show and she (the psychologist) was there to add in anything if needed. So it wasn't a "real" therapy appointment but basically like a "consultation" to help the resident doc's deal with patients seeking therapy and maybe to help them spot patients that might benefit from therapy. It definitely wasn't a wasted trip for me (even though they were running an hour behind!!!) So we started off with what meds I was on, why I was on them, and how long I'd been on them. Then he wanted to know why I thought I need to seek help. We spent about 15 minutes talking and they gave me 2 places to call here in my town (my doctors office is about 45 minutes away from my house). The psychologist gave me a few tips on what to look for in a therapist, she talked about how my relationship with the therapist needs to be 100% about trust and to listen to my gut if I feel it's "off" or I'm not happy in the relationship. 

I also did a little googling and found a private practice I might call. It's an older woman but she deals specifically with depression and relationship problems. However it might take a while to get in to see here where as the one place that was suggested is a huge "practice" and they said I'd probably get an appointment with a week!!!

I'm suppose to check back in with my docs office a month to 6 weeks from now. But if I needed them for anything to call right away. Like if I can't find a therapist near me that I like, they have other resources for me. So that's where I'm at, I'm hoping to make some calls tomorrow and I'll hopefully report back with some good news!!!

Check up

So I had a check up with my doctor today, just the usual every 6 month are you still crazy but not killing people check up. I cried though, ugh!!! I hate crying and I hate crying in front of people even more!! He asked me if I felt OK and I gave the "eh" answer and he was like "that's not the answer I'd hoped for" and then I was like I'm ok but my marriage is basically a shit show!!! 😢 So we talked for a bit and I was like "I've actually been thinking I need to talk to someone, but I wasn't sure who..." And he was like "guess what, we have a psychologist on staff and she comes here every Thursday, we can totally set you up with an appointment with her!!!" I was like "YES!!!" So I actually got in this Thursday, like 2 days from now. I was sure I'd have to wait a few weeks!! So hoping this is gonna help big time. Not gonna lie, I'm nervous as hell but I know I need this!!! I also had to get the blood work I'd been putting off for 2 years and my weight was up, but I knew that and he didn't critize we just talked about it and why it was up, the whole tanked relationship!! He wants to see me back in early September. To see how the other appointments are going and to hopefully talk about my sleep study I've also been putting off. I really was going to do it 6 months ago but I never got the referral, so hopefully it will come this time!!!

What a LONG day!!!

I'm gonna be tried just recapping it again!! So today started bright and early at 5AM! I was up and showered and got lunched pack and the girls up! Then I got the boys up and got them all dressed and fed cereal and we were out the door by 6:28AM. I threatened the girls not to miss the bus and then I headed to Laura's to drop Little man off!! Then Gman, CJ and I were off to Pittsburgh! It was smooth sailing until we hit just past the Zoo exit and then there was so much traffic, but thankfully it was short in distance even though it was long in time!! But I had left in plenty of time so we still made it to the hospital with plenty of time to spare! We got an awesome parking place in the parking garage and then took the purple elevator to the 4th floor! We had to wait just a few minutes until we checked in and then we waited about 15 more minutes before he was called back! He had to p.e.e in a cup and then we waited about 15 minutes for the CNP (certified nurse practitioner) to come in and see us. 

We talked for a bit and discussed his "symptoms" and how long we had been dealing with them and then she did a physical examination of his mister p.e.e.pers and said that he has meatal stenosis. Basically his p.e.e hole is closed up but for a tiny little pin prick of a hole! So then we talked about how to fix it and there were 2 options - in office with local anesthetic and in the operating room with general anesthetic. Obviously I choose to try the office route first so we are going to get a call to set that up. Then we were done and we headed out - we were there for less them 3 hours. Then we got in the van and headed home, but after a few minutes of driving I decided to try and find the Hobby Lobby to see if I could find the Aqua core kit, so we followed the directions and found it, but no such luck - BOO!! So I bought something else and then back in the van we went and headed home! We got home right at lunch time! Once I got home the hospital scheduling lady had already called me so I called her back and we are going to the Dr.'s Monroeville Office on June 16th to have the procedure done! Then the boys and I just hung out till everyone else started coming home!! S made dinner and then I headed out to get a gift card at Dunking Donuts for Laura (for baby sitting Little man) and a tea from McDonald's before the 6:30PM PTA meeting when my phone rang and it was Jenn asking where I was, it was almost 6PM and the meeting was starting at 6PM!! ACK!!! So I rushed there and was only a few minutes late - it was the longest meeting ever - there was some much contention it was just UGH!!! I was elected president but one of the girl's that was elected vice president I really can't stand and the funny thing is she is my neighbor - she literally lives like 5 feet beside us! Once the meeting was over it was a whirlwind of signing stuff and getting information - my head was spinning!! Eek!! Then after we were done Laura, Kristi, Cindy and I headed to Brunzies for drinks and talking! We were there till 11PM and then I had to come home and make crock pot potato soup for the teacher's appreciation lunch the next day!! It was probably 12:30AM before I got into bed!!! I think T got home just before 8PM from Ohio.

So it must be Monday -

Gman needs to go to the doctors!! Ugh!! I swear this boy just finished a strong medicine last week and he's snotty and coughing AGAIN!!! So we were up and got the girl's fed, lunches packed and out the door! We tried to head back to bed but neither of us could really get back to sleep!! Once we got the boys up we really just had to get Little man "ready", once he was on the bus, T went to work and Gman, C and I headed to the doctors!!! We got there and put our name on the list for the walk in clinic and we were in to see Katie super quick!! We actually saw the student physician's assistant again first and then Katie. His lungs are clear but man he is one big ball of SNOT!!!! Even though he was running a little bit if a fever last night she don't think it's anything that needs antibiotics (they did a strep test too), so she prescribe a nasal spray, Flonase, and he has to have one spray in each nostril once a day and I have to call Katie back on Friday to let her know how he is doing!!! She said he could go back to school today - which was nice and he was thrilled - but I didn't pack him or lunch or put his bookbag together because I was sure he was staying home!!! Hahaha!! So we rushed home and I packed his lunch and through his book bag together and dropped him off at school! Then C and I ran to WalMart to pick up so stuff and then to The Dollar Tree to get a balloon and then to McDonald's for a "birthday" lunch get together for Braden! Amy and Alicia were there and so were Krsita, Elle and Joshua. C had fun playing with Elle, but he didn't really play with Braden or Alicia!! Then we had to run back to Wal Mart because I forgot washer fluid and I needed brake fluid because now for some reason my brake light is coming on!! Ugh!! Finally we headed home and got to chill for a bit!!! Little man and Gman got to stay after school today for games and a snack (Pay to Play Relay) so I went out and picked them up at 4:45PM. Then I came home and made pancakes for dinner!! Then it was time to get the kids showered and give Gman his first nose spray and then it was bed time for everyone!!!

Another amazingly lazy day!!

After I got the 4 bigger kids off to school and daddy off to work I climbed back in bed and continued to watch The Walking Dead!! All damn day - it was fabulous!!! I of course fed C lunch and made the kids pizza for dinner but that was about it!! Kind of loving this funk I'm in!! I have another weird sore on my tongue again, ugh hating this!!!! 

Daddy did have a doctor's appointment today at 9:15AM - he had been feeling the wright of the world a lot more lately!! He was diagnosed with general anxiety disorder and put on Lexapro. Hoping this helps him out significantly!!! Daddy did bring C and I home Mickey's for lunch today, it was great to have a little home lunch date with him!!

So what can I say about today, it kind of sucked!!!

Our alarm went off and I seriously did not want to get up, I think I am just running myself ragged and I'm not sleeping well at night so therefore it's making it harder for me to get up in the morning!! But up I got and got lunches packed and T got the girls fed and we headed back to bed. Back up at 7:30AM and it was rush, rush, rush!! Got kids fed and Gman's lunch packed (Little man was staying home today) and then got all the breathing treatments done and all the boys dressed!!! Threw on some yoga pants and thankfully T offered to stay home with Little man while dropped C off at school!! Came home and cleaned the kitchen and cleaned up my inbox a bit. I started some laundry and then it was time to go get C. While I was sitting there waiting Mrs. Mauk called and Gman was in her office with a headache, earache and low grade fever (99.7). UGH!!! Oh but before that I forgot that T called shortly after he left for work and his car was leaking gas - Buggy's can't get him in till like Thursday and it's going to cost like $600 bucks!!! UGH!! He can't drive it so he had to stay in town!!! Ok back to the school calling, I called T had him call the doc's while I picked up C and then off we went to EP to get Gman! Our appointment wasn't till 2:15PM so home we went!!! I baked peanut butter blossoms while the boys played with play dough. I also worked on some more laundry!!! At 1:45PM off we went to the docs!! Got right in and Dr. Shoe came in to see us, no ear infecting (I knew it), but he was wheezing and had a sinus infection!! UGH!! I swear to god if one more person gets sick I'm gonna FREAK!!! So we picked up another nebulizer (a penguin) and headed home to get my purse (I forgot it - ACK!! I hate that!!) and then picked up daddy so that he could sit in the van with the boys so I could get tylenol/advil from Wal Mart and then the RX form Giant Eagle! Then it was home to wait for S to call to pick her up from her play audition!! She finally called at 5PM and off we went once again!! Then it was home to cook dinner (shells/ragu/meatballs) and then after dinner we did part of our craft, upcycle bulb ornament, but we ran out of time because we had to get showers and give breathing treatments!!! Once I got the boys in bed I sat in my office and made 8 ornaments for the boys teachers - silouette and glitter ones. Now I'm writing this and as soon as I'm done I am going to bed!! I am kind of whooped and I just want to cuddle up in my bed with my pillows!!!

Last Monday before Christmas break, WOO HOO!!!!

Ugh it was tough getting up this morning, I seriously just wanted to crawl back in bed. Maybe because it was a totally crappy night - T was up with Little man like 3 times - he was crying and belly aching all night because his ear hurt. Then him and C were up at like 5AM watching TV in the living room - sheesh!!! T herded them back to bed. We got the girls fed and out the door and headed back to bed! We got back up about 7:30AM and got the boys fed, dressed and lunches packed! Little man was crying again because his ear hurt but he didn't want to miss school because they were having a cooking class all day, he was also scared that he would start crying in school and kids would make fun of him!! I told him, if his ear starts to hurt just raise his hand and ask to go to the nurse, then if he cries no one will see him and I'll come get him! C and I hung out till lunch, I made him some gingerbread play dough to play with, and then we headed out the door to run a few errands, visited Daddy at his store. I got home and at about 2:15 (right when I was leaving to pick up S), Mrs. Mauk called and Little man was complaining of ear pain and his temp was 100. CRAP!!!  I called T to see if he could pick up S and take her and that's I go get Little man. I tried the Dr. office but there phone just rang and rang and then went to a message that they were busy due to high call volume. Then T called and his car wouldn't start, CRAP!!! So I hurried and picked up Little man and then picked up S, told T to keep trying the office and to get us an appointment. T called and finally got the car started, told me the office said just to stop in as soon as possible, so I told him to just go in town and park by the dermatologist office and I'd drop S off and in the mean time I'd take Little man to the doctor's. That left R at home by herself and to get Gman off the bus if T didn't make it home in time!

We got the office and got right in, still wheezing a bit and RAGING ear infection (right ear), the worst Dr. Shoe said he'd seen in a long time!! So amoxicillin for 10 days! All while this was going on T and S were waiting and waiting to be called back - her appointment was at 3:10PM and it was after 3:40PM before she was even called back!! Also R got Gman off the bus and instead of going through the garage like I told her she went out the mud room door and locked her and Gman out of the house - in the cold and snow! Then T came home and he didn't even have his key because he had given it to R that morning to get in after school!! Sheese!! Thank goodness were got home at about 4:15PM so they didn't have to wait outside long!! T had to go back to work and I need to get medicines pick up and thankfully I had put beef soup in the crockpot so all I did was make some noodles and served the kids, then I headed out the door to get the meds and finally back home after 6PM. I was so whooped and really didn't feel like doing out activity and didn't think we really had any time so I told the kids we'd just do two tomorrow!!! Then I headed to my room to drink a mimosa and watch the new Percy Jackson movie on blue ray! After it was done I watched Pacific Rim till I couldn't hold  my eyes open any more and then it was off to dream land!!

Well I thought

today was going to be a pretty boring day, the 4 bigger kids at school. Daddy in Ohio. Mommy and C just hanging out, but as we were sitting at the table with morning eating Gman was coughing and I knew that I just had to suck it up and take him to the doctors, I mean the boy has been coughing for a month and it wasn't changing....so I called and they just told me to come at 9AM for the open clinic...so we got Little man on the bus and off we went!! We were the only ones there and we got right in to see Dr. Katie. 

She took so much time listening to Gman's chest...like 10 minutes and of course she heard crackling in the lower portion of the right lobe - pneumonia!! Man - poor kiddo, wonder how long he has had it - I feel like the world's worst mother because I have been saying for like 2 weeks - I need to take him to the doctors!! So we got a prescription for Augmentin. Nebulizer treatments every four hours and off school for 2 days!! Of course on the way home I called the school to let them know and when Gman heard me say he'd be off for two days he BAWLED!!! He loves school so much and I'm so sad he has to miss it!! So we ran to Wal Mart to pick up a few things and then to Michael's to get him so new stickers for doing his breathing treatment. Giant Eagle to get his meds and then home!!! The boys spent the day playing their DS's and watching TV and I spent the day trying out crafts for Gman's party next week!! I think I'm going with the turkey headband!! 
Then S got home about 3:10PM and is like "I need a white shirt for tomorrow".......... WTF!!! Thanks for telling me!! So I'm like I'm going now because I won't have a chance the rest of the day so you have to watch the boys and get Little man off the bus!! I ran to goodwill and found 2 shirts and a pair of black pants - pants were way to short and she bitched about both shirts - I GIVE UP!!! I told her I didn't care what she wore!! I made Spaghetti and meatballs for dinner (it made me sick ??) and now I'm in the office using the silhouette to cut some stencils!!
Tim called and he left at about 7PM so it will be close to 10 when he gets home - hoping I can stay up and see him!! So that's about it that happened today, I'm gonna finish these cut and then I'm gonna head to my bed to read!!!

Jesus, wasn't it just Monday!!!

I swear the weeks are flying by faster and faster!!! I got up at my usual time this morning but after I packed lunches I had to get dressed and leave (with C) at about 7AM, since I had a doctors appointment in Saltsburgh and mapquest was telling me it would take 40 minutes and for some ungodly reason I made the appointment for 8:15am!! Well C and I made it in awesome time, like 30 minutes which was good and crappy all at the same time, so we drove around the small town for about 15 minutes and then went back!! I saw my doctor and it's basically his saying, how you doing? Me answering fine. His saying still want to stay on your meds? Me answering YES!!! Hahahaha!!! I did snap this hilariously funny photo in the exam room I was in, thank god I wasn't there for that!!! 

Then C and I headed to Wal Mart to pick up some stuff for lunches this week and then home!!! Daddy came home about 10:30AM looking for some movies and wanted us to met him for lunch so we did!!! Then we hit Michael's and then home again!!! I worked on a tiny bit of laundry and then cooked dinner, caught up on my album, put away some laundry and now I'm writing this and then going to go to bed!!! I might read for a bit maybe...we will see. I think I really just wanna curl up under my covers and go to sleep!!!

Busy busy day!!

Just the usually routine for the girls in the morning but then I couldn't go back to bed because C and I needed to be out the door by 8AM. So I showered and got the boys lunches all ready so Tim wouldn't have too!! Then the boys got up and we got moving!! Breakfast and dressed and then C and I out the door!!! We didn't have to wait long and he was such a good little boy!! He weighed 35.8lb and was 41 inched tall!! I just looked in all my usual place and I don't have marked what he was last year at his well check up but I'm almost positive he gained like 5lbs and grew 4 or 5 inches!!! 

Then we ran to a bunch of places, Wal Mart, Michael's and the mall. Then we hit Dunkin Doughnuts for a snack and then home!!! We hung out all afternoon and we didn't really do much!! I got the boy's laundry washed/dried and that was about it!! Then we had to leave the house at about 2:35PM to met S at Bilo so I could get her and C home so I could go back to the high school and work in the concession stand!! The thing is R was suppose to walk up there after school and met me and I couldn't find her anywhere!!! I was getting so nervous!! I wasn't to to worried since there wasn't any other band members milling around but I was thinking terrible thoughts!!! FINALLY right when the game started they came marching in!! Phew!!! So I worked in the concession stand (with 3 men - hahahah) till about 5:30PM. Then after cleaning up R and I headed home!!! We both ate some mac and cheese and then it was really time to start getting everyone bathed!!! We were of course running behind and C didn't get done but oh well.....guess he can get done tomorrow morning!! Then daddy came swooping in at 7:45PM and we put the boys to bed!!! I'm beat so I'm finishing this up and I'm headed to bed too!!! I need some Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz's!!!

Happy hump day!!!

The morning was pretty much same old same old, except R was leaving for her field trip today to Lutherlyn and had to be at the Jr. High between 6:30Am and 6:45AM. Thankfully daddy took her!! Once we got everyone off to school daddy had to go to the doctors today for his check up! C and I just hung out all day, I think we ran out for a a few minutes but I can't remember what we needed to pick up!!! Crap - my memory is terrible!! Daddy called me later and let me know that he was fine and healthy and the doctor wasn't worried about him!! I didn't have to go pick S up from band practice so that we so nice!!  Oh now I remember, C and I had to run to the library to pick up a book that I had put on reserve - World War Z - I came home and started reading it and it was kind of lame!! Daddy got home late (as always) and I got everyone bathed and in bed at the usual time!!

Up and at em today as usual!!

Once we got every one fed and I got lunches packed (ham/cheese roll ups, grapes, apple bread and honey cinnamon crackers) daddy went back to bed because he was feeling terrible!!

He slept for a while and then got up and I convinced him to go to MedExpress!! C and I left the house at about 10:30AM to head to our playdate at B S Park with A & A and C and B. C was so shy and wouldn't play with A or B, in fact he was hiding for a while avoiding everyone until I called him out!!! We stayed till almost 1:30PM. B&A playing together, us mom's just talking and C playing by himself!!! :( I sure hope he warms up soon to them, it makes me sad he is so painfully shy!!! Once we got out of BS daddy called us and invited us to lunch - C choose Chinese - daddy was so happy!!!! Daddy let me know what all they did at MedExpress - he peed in a cup and there was minimal glucose in there, but there was lots of blood. They took 5 vials of blood and daddy started getting woozy even before the nurse started so they moved him to a bed!! Even then he almost passed out and they had to call a big male nurse/orderly in to help in case he started to fall out of the bed!!! The nurse said he looked terrible - like his skin was gray - so they made him stay there and lay down for almost an hour!!! They will call us when the blood work is back!! Then on the way home C was so tired he fell asleep!!

I left him in the van (I say out there with him) for a while but I had to go to the bathroom so I woke him up and got him in the house - but he proceeded to lay down on the couch and go right back to sleep!!! Daddy had to do a few things at the Indiana store but he was home in time for me to go pick up R from Spirit band at 4:15PM. Then we came home and I started getting dinner ready - Tacos. Once we ate it's the normal mad rush to get things clean and get baths and get kids in bed!!! Hahahaha!!! Then it was off to dream land for me and daddy!!!

Happy Monday!!!

Not!! Bleck, another week started and we started it in our usual way!! Early!!! Lots of breakfast and lunches packed for everyone (PB&J, apple slices with cookie dough dip, mini pumpkin muffins and apple sauce)!! We got the kids on the bus and then C and I had to get S to the hospital for her barium swallow by 9AM. We waited for a bit and then it only took about 30 minutes, we had her back at school by 9:45AM.

We came home then for a few minutes to see daddy (he was taking the morning off because he had to go to lunch with G at school) and then we headed to the library for story time. We learned about the letter "A" today and did a cute little (simple) craft.

He played on the computers a bit and with the kitchen stuff a bit and then we ran to Michael's, where I bought NOTHING!!! Hahaha!! Then it was home for lunch!!

I climbed into bed about 1PM to read and the next thing I know I was sleeping!!! I think something woke me up just before R got home at 3PM. Then I got the boys off the bus at 4PM and headed to the high school to pick up S from band practice. Quick stop at Bilo to get corn muffin mix and then home to make dinner: Chicken Noodle veggie soup and corn muffins.

I helped R with her dishes after dinner and then started getting the boys in the shower at 7PM. Daddy got home at about 7:30PM and I warmed up dinner for him and he ate. Got the boys in bed at 8PM and then made up my grocery list for tomorrow and then I made granola bars (cinnamon oatmeal raisin) and there honey cinnamon snack crackers!! Then it was into bed with my book!!

Busy busy morning!!

We had our usually routine: getting the girls fed and lunched packed, getting the boys fed and lunches packed, getting the two bigger boys on the bus and C in the van and on the way to school! I got him dropped off and then headed to the track and walked for about 36 minutes. Came home and showered, got my clothes in the washer and then played on the computer for a bit! I had to head out the door at a little after 11 to get to the Sr High and get S picked up and then to Zion to get C from school at 11:30AM. Then we headed to the ENT, Dr. Bosco Noronha.

We waited for a bit to get into a room and then once in the nurse took some info and then made S sniff some stuff up her nose - the nurse squirted it while S sniffed and swallowed - it was some type of numbing medicine!!

Then we waited just a little bit for the doctor to come in, he was nice and asked S (and me) a bunch of questions. Then he felt all around her neck and face and throat and mouth and didn't feel anything, then he got out this long scope thing and shoved it up her nose and down her throat - S about freaked!!! Hahahaha!! But everything looked good in her nose and around her tongue and tonsils, but then down just a little bit were tons of little lumps/bumps. He wasn't sure what they were but they are definitely not normal!! He thinks she might be suffering from acid reflux or GERD. He prescribe her some acid reflux medicine and ordered a barium swallow for her. We got to that on Monday Sept 30th. So we got done there and I took her back to school and then C and I headed to Mickey's since it was after 1PM. Then we came home and chilled - I worked on laundry. The kids started coming home around 3PM and S text me just after 4PM and she was done early from band so we went and got her and then headed to Michael's to pick up a shirt R needed for school tomorrow! As I was pulling out I remember that I needed to pick up S's medicine and so we went through the Giant Eagle drive thru, all I can say is thank god for insurance!! If we were paying cash it would have cost us $200.99 dollars!!! Thankfully with our insurance it was only $15!!! phew!!! Then we rushed home and I got dinner ready (from the chicken that T cooked for me last night), roast chicken, baked potatoes and green beans!!! Then after dinner I worked on some baking!! I made from scratch, blueberry muffins and peanut butter oatmeal chocolate chip cookies and then I made cinnamon pita chips for the kids lunches tomorrow! And now I'm beat!!! Just waiting for T to get home so I can fold some laundry and then go to bed!!! I can hear my bed calling me!!! And I see he just pulled in!! HE had to stop at Wal Mart and pick up some type of graphing calculator for S for school, another $100 bucks!!! Man that kid is costing me a lot!! Ok, now I'm seriously off to bed!!!

Another Monday morning!!

I was so very grump when my alarm went off at 6AM, my bed was so cozy and I didn't want to get up! But I did and Hubby made the girls egg sandwiches while I packed lunches (bagels w/ pumpkin spice cream cheese, cheese crackers, peaches and white chocolate pudding).  We went back to bed of course but the boys were up and at 'em bright and early!! So we started the morning routine all over again!! Got even one out the door and I was gonna go walk but then C wanted to play his DS for a bit so I was going to go watch some TV in my room. It was so cold though (because of the fan and the windows open) that I crawled under the Brown's blanket and then I didn't want to move!!! Hahaha!! C however roused me at about 10AM and wanted to go to the library (finally) so off we went!! We were there till almost 11:30AM. Listened to the stories, sang some songs and then C made 3 crafts with the letters "B, R & P". On the way home T called and said that S had text him and that she wanted me to call the doctors - it hurts her throat every time she swallows. So I came home and called the doctors and they got her in for 2PM, called the school to let them know I was picking her up, text her to let her know I was picking her up and then got C some lunch. We headed out the door at little after 1, picked up S and then headed to B'ville. Kaite was stumped and could figure out what it might be so she ordered some x-rays (strep test was negative). Down we went to the lab and waited for those. Then headed home and got here at about 3PM. I messes around getting caught up on laundry and cleaning my office/desk. Got a call from Katie and the x-ray didn't show anything so she wants to send her to an ENT, one of the office girls is working on getting us in tomorrow and they will call us and let us know what is going on!! Finally started dinner at 5PM, made the best beef barley soup ever!! Served it with a side of home made butter drop biscuits!! All the kids loved it (well C kind of liked the meat). I helped S with her dishes and started the pizza rolls for tomorrows lunches. Then it was time to start baths and bed routines!! Daddy came sailing in about 7:30PM. After the kids were in bed I finished up the pizza rolls (they were a pain in the ass, I forgot the cheese in half of them!!) and only one pan turned out but they have a good flavor! T and I spent the evening watching Gatsby - it was stupid!! Finally it was bedtime at 11:30PM

Toes

So not sure if I've posted on here about C's toe nails, but I am now! From the day he was born he has had weird nails....especially on his big toes, arched terrible....like HUGE ingrown toenails. I questioned his doctor about them several times and he seemed to think that they would flatten out once he started walking. Well the one (left side) eventually did flatten out shortly after his first birthday, but the right one still stayed screwed up....thick and brittle and discolored (yellow). Well at his 15 month well check up his doctor noticed nasties between his toes and prescribed a fungal cream for us. Well we would apply the cream and the funk went away but when we would stop it would just come right back after like 2 weeks. I ended up doing two rounds per the doctor and one round all on my own. At one point the nail was almost normal.....losing it's thickness and discoloration...but then when we stopped it just went right back to it's old disgusting self!! :-( I've known for a while that I just need to suck it up and call a real foot doctor...not that I don't love our ped and I think he is so awesome....it's just we were/are dealing with something specific that needs a specialist!!

So yesterday as I was dressing C and I was putting on his socks I started messing with his toenails...trying to clip them and make them look less gross and I just got up...grab my computer and looked up podiatrist covered by our insurance and call them to make an appointment!! Little did I know that it would be a long wait (like I thought it would) we got an appointment less then 24 hours later!! Hooray!!

So.....the doc was nice but I think he was kind of shell shocked cause C cried the whole time...he's not too fond of doctors to say the least!!! But that's ok....the doc decided that the fungus was in the nail matrix and we needed a new regimen....so we will do this for 3 months and then have a follow up!! I just want my baby to have pretty little toes....I hope we are on our way to that!!!

The last of the First's!!

So today I celebrated my last first birthday!! My last sweet little baby boy turned one today!! At exactly 4:07PM this afternoon!!! I can't believe it....I can't believe a year has gone by...I can't believe that I will never ever have another baby to celebrate this very special birthday with!!! *sniff sniff* I had high hopes of writing out C's birth story today and posting it on the blog since I never did....but it just didn't happen....to much going on today!!! But we had his one year well check up this morning and here are his before and after stats!!!

Birth (9-21-09)
weight: 7lbs 6 ozs
length 20 inches
Head: 34.5cm

One year old (9-21-10)
weight: 19lbs 4 ozs
length: 29 inches
head: 45cm

So still my little munchkin!! Oh well he is perfect in every way and that is all that matters!!! Here are a few pictures of the birthday boy!!!

Such a slacker!!!

I suck when it comes to keeping this thing updated!!! Man I am a very neglectful blogging mommy!!! Let's see, what's been happening in my neighbor hood?? The kids and I had a nice time at my parents house Easter weekend!! The bunny was very good to my kids and brought them lots of little "toys" and games and not much candy!!! Only one little milk chocolate bunny (which was promptly hidden when we arrived home). What a good little Easter Bunny!!! ;-)

The bunny also hid them Easter eggs (filled with pennies and jelly beans) all over grandma and grandpa's house. They had so much fun hunting those!!! I think there still may be one floating around there some where. Unless Uncle Jeff got into that one!!! **lol**

Church was nice, but that is where our trip started to go down hill!!!! About 2 weeks ago, on one of our really nice days, the kids were cleaning up the yard and coming into the house. R was complaining to DH that her leg hurt and she wanted carried. We thought she was fooling and kind of brushed her off. Well after dinner as we were laying around the living room, we noticed R limping on her right leg. Well she couldn't straighten it or flex her foot or put weight on it with out screaming in pain!!! She said it hurt behind her knee. The front of the knee was fine and we could touch it, but the back of the knee was slightly swollen and we couldn't touch it with out causing great pain. We figured she pulled or strained a muscle while playing outside!!! So we sent her to bed and figure if it was still bad in the morning I would call the doctor.

Well it was fine in the morning, but I kept her home from school anyways. Just to be safe and to not put any more strain on it!! Well all was fine with her until Easter Sunday. Now to preface this all the kids have had "colds" (coughs and snotty noses) for about a week. During church R lays down and falls asleep on my mom, I didn't thing anything of it because of said cold!!! After church we sat there for a bit talking with my niece and ex sister in law. Well when it was time to go, R couldn't walk on her leg. The left one this time!!!! **ACK** As the day progresses it hurts her more and more and my poor baby girl is scooting around on her butt to get from place to place!!! She is not in pain unless she tries to stand, walk or if you touch her knew or try to straighten her leg. She also has a small red rash on her right leg, only a few dots!!!

Well finally at 4:30PM I start loading the van, because I really want to get her home. I have know idea what's wrong with her and it was scaring me a bit. So I finally get the van loaded and everyone in it and on the road by 5PM. I drove straight through and we got home about 7:45PM. I carry R up from the van and she gives her daddy a hug. We pulled her pants up to check out her knee and that weird little red rash now covers both her legs from the knees down!!!! **ACK**...........**DOUBLE ACK**!!!! Her right ankle is also swelling now and has a really big red dots on it.

So I am like, I think she needs to go to the ER and DH agreeed. So we are back in the van and headed to the ER by 8PM. Well they are baffled and keep asking if she injured it. I keep telling them "NO". I told them about it happening before and that I thought she might have then, but I know she didn't this time. She walked into church on it and an hour later she couldn't even put slight wight on it!!! They took her for x rays and gave her an IV port. They were very nice and kind and she got coloring books and crayons and Popsicles. She was such a trooper. She only cried a little bit when they put the IV in and only whined a bit and I think a lot of the was out of tiredness!!! We mostly laid there in her bed and watched Rosanne **lol**

After a checking her blood and u.r.i.n.e., the doctor decided that it wasn't anything bacterial, but viral and came back with a diagnosis of Henoch-Schönlein Purpura, which basically an arthritis that settles in the joints of the hips, knees and ankles and they think it's caused by a virus. And that funky weird red rash??? It was actually all the little capillaries busting in her legs!!!! **AAACCCCKKK** That is the one "danger" of it that it can cause the capillaries in the intestines and kidney's to break and cause permanent damage!!!! **SCARY**!!!! And the trouble is the kidney damage can take a while to show up. But it's been a week and the "rash" is gone, which her Dr. said is WONDERFUL!!! Usually the rash progresses up the whole leg and on to the b.u.t.t.o.c.k.s. and then takes about 2 to 3 weeks to disappear!!!

So the plan of action is that R will have monthly u.r.i.n.e. checks for the next six months to make sure her kidney's are functioning fine and then we should be back to normal!!! So that's whats been happening around here. I was gonna share some pages but I am p.o.o.p.e.d., they'll have to wait till another day!!!! Have a great one!!!
